Chef Burak Ozcan grew up in Turkey where he discovered his love of cooking and passion for hospitality at a young age. While attending culinary school at the famed Mengen Culinary Vocational School, Burak spent summers working in gourmet kitchens at five-star resorts along the Mediterranean, perfecting the coastal cuisine. Burak eventually made his

way to Dallas, Texas in 2009 where he worked alongside Chef Stephan Pyles. After learning the heart of Southwestern cuisine Burak transitioned to hotels where he led the Food and Beverage department of numerous Dallas-Fort Worth properties. In 2016 Chef Burak created the innovative Tex-Med cuisine: Modern Mediterranean with a Texan Twist. After this new concept received rave reviews, Burak knew it was time to make his lifelong dream a reality and in 2019 he opened Ferah Tex-Med Kitchen in Garland. Ferah's unique concept thrived despite the pandemic and Ferah's second location opened in Southlake July 2022. Chef Burak's award-winning Tex-Med concept has been a crowd favorite as the Ferah family of brands continues to expand.
